The book I read is called Kicker. It is about two girls that get into deeper trouble than they have ever imagined. On a scale of one to ten, ten being the best and one being the worst, I'd rate this book a seven. This book had a lot of action and it kept me on the edge of my chair through out the book. If the book had more dialogue and inner thinking I would have given it a higher rating.

I just finished reading among the imposters by Margaret Peterson Haddix. She writes a lot of other good books too. There are six books in the shadow children series. This one is the second.
It is about a boy named Luke who is an illegal third child. The population was too high so the government made having a third child illegal. Luke had to leave his family and go to a school for boys. He had a hard time but got used to it and had some fun. I would give it five stars.

A good book I read was Among the Hidden. Among the Hidden is a Sci-Fi book or a fantasy book. Among the Hidden is written by Margret Peterson Haddix. It is the first of six books in the series.
I give this book 5 stars because it really a crazy book because there are so many mysteries and ups and downs.
This book takes place future when 12 year old Luke Gardener is hiding for his whole life because he is a shadow child. A shadow child is a illegal third born child who has to hide because if the population police find they will kill him. But then one day he sees out the window a girl. Starfish Book Review by Porcupine
This week I read a book called Starfish by James Crowley. The book is an action packed book about two Blackfoot Indian siblings named Lionel and Beatrice. The book takes place in a time when the Blackfoot Indians were given a reservation. People also didn’t favor the tribe at the time and many people discriminated against them.
Lionel and Beatrice escape their vindictive boarding school on “The greatest horse in the country,” Ulysses, and make their way into the woods and try to find their grandfather. Their grandfather is one of the few true Blackfoot people left. He teaches Lionel and Beatrice many of the Blackfoot survival methods which include hunting, making clothes, and many others. Grandfather also tells stories to Beatrice and Lionel about Old Man, who the Blackfoot people believe created the world and made everything in nature the way it is today. Lionel and Beatrice are now wanted by “The Captain” for stealing Ulysses and they must run away. But can they keep their cover? I can’t tell you so you should just read it.
I would give this book a four star rating. Some parts of the book got me puzzled because I didn’t have any back round knowledge about the tribe. To get the book I did a little bit of research about the Blackfoot people. I would advise you to do the same before you read the book.
The book I read is called Wringer By Jerry Spinelli. Wringer is a fiction book. Wringer is about a town; each year that town has a family feast. At the family feast, they play carnival games, but they also kill five thousand pigeons each year at the family feast. Palmer is the main character and has always wondered why the town kills five thousand birds a year. When you are ten years old and live in this town, you become a wringer. A wringer is a kid that twists the pigeon’s necks if it has not been killed by the gun shot. Palmer doesn’t want to be a wringer because he would not want to kill birds. Palmer found a pigeon on his window sill one day. He let the bird in and kept him as a pet. Nipper is the pigeon’s name. Palmer has to keep nipper a secret from everyone. Palmer has told onlt one person about nipper, the neighbor Dorithy. Dorithy and Palmer have to Nipper a secret. Palmer’s friends have always wanted to be wringers, and they get suspicious of Nipper when they sneak into Palmer’s room and find Nippers ball that he wrote “Nipper” on. When Palmer was walking home from school, Nipper spotted Palmer and flew onto his head. Palmer’s friends were then very positive that Nipper was Palmer’s.
I would give Wringer a 4 on a scale form one to 5. I give it a four because, there was a lot of cliff hangers that made me want to read more. Also, there was also something surprising that Palmer would do. I also got confused sometimes because Palmer would say something unexpected at times.
I just finished reading Pendragon: The Lost City of Faar by Donald James MacHale. It is the second book in the Sci-Fi Fiction series. It is a phenomenally written book that has an immense load of action.
In this book, Bobby Pendragon, the main character, and his uncle are trying to stop an evil Traveler named Saint Dane. Travelers are people who can travel through space and time when they go through a flume, they can understand languages from those different planets, and have rings that can show them where the flumes are and that can send things from the Traveler to the person who has the other ring. Every Traveler has their own ring. Bobby and Uncle Press flume to the planet Cloral where there is no solid land. There is only water. There are huge floating cities that have their own purposes. There is Grallion, which is a huge floating farm. And there is Panger City, which is a financial center. Almost all technology on Cloral is water based. At the end….. Oh no! It looks like I can’t tell you! Sorry!!(If I were you, I would read the series!)
This book is hard to rate. If I really had to rate it I would give it a 4 ½ because it is very nicely written, is action filled, it has good word usage, but it was sometimes a little unclear. But only a little was unclear. The rest was great! A big thumbs up!!
Earlier this week I read a book called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It is a realistic fiction book about one powerful district called the capital that has complete control over 12 other districts. Every year the capital forces the 12 districts to pick a boy and a girl from the age of 12-18 to play in the hunger games. The hunger games is a fight to the death on live television.
Katniss, a smart girl from district 12 is chosen to play in the games. She desperately wants to survive so she can see her 12 year old sister Prim again.
Peeta, a local baker's son, is chosen. He thinks he has no chance in the games. He might be right considering out of 24 people there is only one winner.
I rate this book a 5 out of 5 because it gets into the action very quickly. I also felt an urge to keep on reading because of the great cliff hangers at the end of many chapters. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read a lot.
The book I finished reading is called Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli. The genre is realistic fiction.
The book is about an orphan who hated his life because he lived with his grandparents, who hated each other but because they were Christian, they wouldn’t get divorced. So the orphan, Jeffrey, ran away. He lived in different places in different towns with different people. He came in uninvited to a house with people, and invited to other houses. The towns were separated – one town with blacks, one with whites. As he lived with different people, he experienced some terrible tragedies and had to move on to another place. But, he quickly became popular. He was a fast runner, could play sports well, could untie crazy knots, and he helped people a lot. He also got in trouble with some other kids. He came to be called Maniac. But he still couldn’t find a good home. Did he? Or would he live the rest of his life homeless and uneducated? You’ll never know… unless you READ THE BOOK!
I would give this book 4.5 stars. The book is suspenseful and keeps you on a cliffhanger throughout each chapter. The book also has a lot of emotion and conveys the message of feeling so well that you’ll be able to feel what the character is feeling.

A good book I read a little while ago is 13 Gifts by Wendy Mass. This book is the 3rd book in a series with 11 Birthdays and Finally. At the beginning of 13 Gifts it seems like it is a realistic fiction book, but then it has a fictional twist to it.
It is about Tara, a girl turning 13 on Friday the 13th. She gets suspended for attempting to steal a goat. (It was to make her mom happy!!!) This leads to getting suspended for 2 weeks, (the rest of the school year). Because of this, her parents decided not to take her on their vacation trip to Madagascar, so she needs to stay in strange Willow Falls with her cousin, Emily (last time Tara saw her she ate a whole stick of glue; gross!!!) and her aunt and uncle. There, she meets Angela D’Angelo, an old woman with a duck shaped birthmark on her cheek, at a mysterious store. Angela has given her 13 things to collect by the day of Tara’s birthday or…. something strange will happen. Will Tara accept her friends’ (yes, Tara, they are friends!) help? You will not know until you read the book so, I advise reading the book.
I would give this book 4 stars because it is well written and very humorous. I didn’t give it the 5th star because I didn’t like it as much as I liked other Wendy Mass books. I’m not exactly sure why, but I just feel like something was missing in a couple parts.
--------------------------------------------In Word I underlined the titles, but when I pasted the underlines went away. Sorry!
I’m reading the book called The Enemy by Charlie Higson. It is an action/ thriller. It is about in infection that goes around and nobody really knows how it started. The twist is that only adults can get infected so all the kids that didn’t get killed are now fighting for survival. But not only are they getting attacked by all of their family Arran Achilleus Ollie freak Deke and the rest of their gang cannot agree on a plan for survival so they teamed up with another gang of kids which is ran by a teenager named Blue. While they were negotiating to let their gang shelter with Blue’s someone knocked on the door of the grocery store where they lived and asked if the two gangs wanted to go live in a palace in London. I would give this book 5 out of 5 because it is one of those book’s that make you want to keep reading. It is a very exciting book and I highly recommend reading it.
I read Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. It is a mystery, one of my favorite genres, and I thought the book was great. There also is a sequel, called Flush, but I haven’t read it yet. Here is a brief summary.
In the book, Roy Eberharbt, has moved from Minnesota to a small town in Florida. He is getting harassed on the bus by the monster, Dana. While getting smushed into the window, he discovers a boy about his age, running, without any shoes. The craziest thing was that he was running away from the school bus. Roy decides to follow him one day, then finds out that one of his classmates, Beatrice, is his stepbrother. They all go on an adventure to save the little and rare owls that live in burrows on the future Mother Paula’s Pancake House site. But Curly, the foreman, makes sure that doesn’t happen so he can save his job.
I would give this book 5 stars because I thought it was cool that the characters showed care for the environment. It was also very unique, unlike any other book I have ever read. Another reason I would give it 5 stars is that the author was very descriptive; it was easy to “see” the book in your head. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend.

I think that A Tale Dark and Grimm by Adam Gidwitz is a very amusing Sci-Fi Fantasy story. This story is a wonderfully gory book filled to the brim with action and surprise at every corner.
This suspense packed book is not like any other retelling of a Brothers Grimm story. At first, it starts out like every other fairytale, with a dying king. Then, it leads to an introduction to, two sweet innocent kids getting their heads chopped off by their own parents! The kids are reborn and their disappearance (they ran away) begins the start of Hansel and Gretel’s adventure.
After a long day of traveling and searching for a kind family to belong to the two starving children stumble upon a house of a baker that is made of chocolate cake. The kids were let inside to eat and stayed there for several weeks constantly being feed by the baker. The horrid day came when the baker made a big pot of broth and started to cook Hansel. The baker got shoved in the oven as Hansel and Gretel continued on their search for a family that appreciated them.
After various encounters the two take on, they decide it better to not have parents after all. Then bare villages tell them something is wrong so on asking a villager they find that an evil dragon is terrorizing their parents’ palace they grudgingly make their way to the palace when a faithful servant of Hansel and Gretel’s parents tells them that what their parents did was a big misunderstanding. Following a joyous family reunion Hansel and Gretel devise a plan on how to succeed the dragon. Together they bravely taunt the dragon with wine slicing off its head. Returning as heroes and finally finding a place where they belong, their crowned King and Queen.
I would give this book a five star rating because the action and detail was enough to make me feel like I was on a roller coaster the whole time. Also the bond between Hansel,Gretel, and the fact that it included the theme it doesn’t matter who you are or how old you are, you can make a difference inspired me.

A shadow child is an illegal third born child who has to hide because if the population police find him they will kill him. Over the summer I read a book called The Underneath by Kathi Appelt . It is realistic fiction because it takes place in a real Louisiana bayou and could be happening now. It has 2 stories that end up coming together. One story is about an abandoned cat that finds an abused dog. The cat and the dog join up and live under the house together. When the cat gives birth to 2 kittens they grow up in the “underneath.” When one of them ventures out his mother tries to save him but gets caught to. A mean man throws them in the river and the mom drowns. It is up to the kitten to save his tiny family. The other story is a about a snake in a jar that really wants to get out and as she is waiting for the right time she remembers how she got in they jar. Eventually she gets out and that’s when the stories merge together. On a scale of 1-5 I would give it a 5. It is very well written and you can feel all the tragedy and how the characters feel really well. I really recommend this book. I also recommend Keeper. (also by Appelt)
I just finished reading the book "Heaven Looks A lot Like the Mall" by Wendy Mass.It is a dramatic, yet hysterical, also cry your eyes out book. The setting takes place in modern day/ heaven.
A disillusioned sixteen-year-old girl is not that happy with life. Especially when this girl, Tessa, finds out it might be over. Basically a dodge ball got dodged at her head. And the next thing she knows she is floating in heaven. She searches and searches to find somebody, her mom, her dad, best friend, a teacher, basically anyone she knows or knew! But this place looks familiar almost like the mall, Tessa thought. Tessa's "heaven" was the mall.
Along the way she meets a boy around her age. Since he was basically the only half normal person there (not caring about the big screw in his four-head) they look through every single thing that Tessa ever bought at the mall. Tessa and the boy become close. but was it for no reason? Is Tessa really dead? You have to read the book to find out

The book I read is called Frindle by Andrew Clements. The genre is realistic fiction.
This book is about a boy named Nick. One day nick decided to invent a new word called Frindle. His 4th grade teacher did not like the word and wanted it to stop. She would hold the kids after school if they used the word. But by then, the word was already spreading around the country and there was nothing Nick could do to stop it. One big thing that helped it travel around the country was that many newspapers ant talk shows interviewed Nick about the word.
If I could give this book a 1 to 5 star rating I would give it a 5 because it kept me interested the whole book.
I just completed a book called The Forgotten Army by Brian Minchin. This is a sci-fi book that is action-packed and filled with loads of humor. It was a thrilling, all-new adventure featuring Amy and The Doctor.
Long ago, in the frozen artic wastes, an alien army landed. Now, millions of years later, a man handed Sam a map. The map was of prehistoric animals, buried underneath hundreds of layers of ice in the frosty artic. Not wanting to disappoint Polly Vernon (his friend), he took the map, and scurried away.
While Sam was searching for his “treasure”, The Doctor and Amy babbled on about burgers while darting through time and space in the Tardis (Time And Relative Dimension In Space). When they landed in New York City, present day, The Doctor sensed right away that there was something wrong, something very wrong, something alien.
The Doctor was right. He had lost track of time, lots of it, and in the time that Sam was searching for his treasure, the alien army was preparing for victory.
What The Doctor didn’t realize was that Sam had already opened his exhibit, and the mammoth wasn’t frozen dead, it was hibernating, and now, it was awake, and rampaging down Broadway.
When the aliens revealed themselves to the public, nobody thought they were a threat, since they were only seven centimeters tall. But when they sent a time freeze on all of New York, and disrupted everybody’s satellite connections, people began to realize that the Vykoids, although they were small, they were also very clever.
As the Vykoid army enslaved humans across Manhattan in the time it took The Doctor to take two steps, Amy was getting worried. Things really took a turn for the worst when the Vykoids reached The Doctor and brought him to their prison. Will Amy find The Doctor in time to save the city? Well, sorry, but I can’t tell you. Read the book to find out!
I would rate this book five stars because I love reading about aliens and it was also very funny. I like having humor in the books I read because it makes the book more exciting. Also, I like the character Amy because she is a very realistic character. It’s fun to read about her and learn more about her personality.
The book was so gripping that I couldn’t put it down, literally. To conclude, The Forgotten Army was an astonishing book.
This week I read the book The Candy Makers by Wendy Mass which is a realistic-fiction genre book. The book is about four kids who enter a contest to make the world’s newest candy sensation. Soon, the four kids learn to help each other even if they were enemies in the beginning. They decide to start a quest to stop people from buying out the candy factory.
I would give this book a five star rating because it is unlike any other book I’ve ever read in my life. Instead of being told by one character’s perspective, all four characters tell their side of the story. Another reason is because this book made you jump out of your seat every time someone told their story and the book left you on some really important cliffhangers that made you want to read on. I would go on, but you have to read this book!

I read an amazing book; it was called Scott Pilgrim’s Precious little life. Before I begin the book is in a series of six books. It’s the first book; it is my favorite book besides the rest of the series. I give it 5 stars it’s very funny and has a good amount of action the two genres I love, the book is by Brian Lee O’Malley and serves several genres including Comedy, Acton, and Romance.
The book and the rest of the series is about 23 year old Scott Pilgrim who is a slacker and doesn’t have a job. Instead he lives with his best friend Wallace Wells. He is in a band with his two friends Kim Pine and Steven Stills. He is now dating a high school girl named Knives Chua; everyone thinks it is very silly that Scott is dating Knives Especially Scott’s 18 year old sister. About two days later he has a dream that he is alone in a desert a meets a pink haired girl who zooms around on roller blades this is when the story really takes off. Scott soon finds out that this girl is real and is in his town. He goes to a party with his band later on and soon finds out that the strange girl is there and needs to meet her ha talks to her at the party but completely messes up but that won’t make Scott Pilgrim give up.
The next day he learns that she is a delivery girl for Amazon.com. So in an attempt to really meet her so he orders some stuff and then waits a while and finally he meets the girl her name is Ramona Flowers. And Scott Forgets about Knives and asks Ramona on a date. Soon they are dating and Scott’s band signs up for a battle of the bands. Soon Scott learns that in order to date Ramona Flowers, he must defeat her seven evil exboyfriends. Soon Scott has to start battling the ex boyfriends and still has to try to beat the battle of the bands to meet the mysterious G-man. I recently read the book The Big Field written by Mike Lupica. It is a realistic fiction book about a thirteen-year-old boy named Hutch. Hutch and his his baseball team enter a baseball tournament in southern Florida. As Hutch wins his way to the championship game, winning is not the only thing on his mind. As Hutch grows more and more Hutch gets into baseball, the further and further is father grows away from him. Hutch has to make a decision, his love for baseball, or his father. Or maybe could he find a way to combine the two together? If I had to to rate this book I would rate it 4 stars out of 5. I would rate it this because it was a very well written and had some very nice action with a nice little ending to tie everything up.

Two weeks ago I finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling. I never really liked fantasy until I read this series.
Its Harry’s fourth year at Hogwarts but before he goes to Hogwarts, he’s getting away from the terrible Dursley’s and is going to the Quidditch World Cup with Ron and Hermione. Quidditch is the wizarding world’s most popular sport. The quidditch world cup is like the Fifa world cup but instead of soccer its quidditch. Also Ron, Harry, and Hermione are hearing rumors that a special event is coming to Hogwarts this year. It’s a special event that hasn’t happened for a long time. It separates the normal wizards from the great wizards.
I would give this book 5 stars. The action in this book is great. There are also a lot of cliff hangers. This book shows that Harry is not a normal wizard. It shows that Harry can go above and beyond expectations. The Harry Potter series is a great series and I recommend it to everyone out there if you haven’t read it.

This past summer I read the book called Diary of a Wimpy kid, The Ugly Truth. The author of the book is Jeff Kinney. The Ugly Truth is the last book of the series. This book is about a boy named Greg that is one of the wimpiest kids in school. Greg is going through a big fight with his best friend Rowley. Throughout the book Greg is trying to find a new best friend but the only person that Greg was really good friends with was Rowley. Also Greg literally has to face the ugly truth, with having to have boy and girl parties. And, well if u know just read it. On a scale of one to five, five being the best I would give it a three. I would give it a three because at sometimes of the book it can be boring but, it is very funny.

A few weeks ago, I read a book called The Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer. It is the third book in the Artemis Fowl series. There are seven books in the series. I think Eoin Colfer writes good books. It is a Sci-Fi/ Fantasy book.
This book is about a thirteen year-old boy named Artemis Fowl. Artemis, in the past, has had adventures with fairies. Yes, in this book, fairies are real. Anyways, since his last adventure, he converted technology from some fairy police helmets into a tiny little cube that Artemis calls the “C Cube”. The technology in the cube is what human technology would be in fifty years. That is why it is so valuable.
He arranges a meeting with a business man, Jon Spiro, to sell the C Cube to him. But the least expected happens: Jon Spiro steals the C Cube and injures his bodyguard, Butler. It’s only a matter of time before Butler will die, so Artemis contacts his old fairy enemy, Captain Holly Short, to heal him. But Artemis also has to stop Spiro from unlocking the C Cube’s secrets, before Spiro finds out there are fairies, and becoming the most powerful man on Earth. Artemis has to do this, without his bodyguard to assist him.
I give this book a four out of five, because the action and technology are cool, but the story is good, too. If you like gadgets, action, suspense, humor, and more, then you should read this book.

I just finished reading Among the Imposters by Margaret Peterson Haddix. She writes a lot of other good books too. There are seven books in the shadow children series. This one is the second.
It is about a boy named Luke who is an illegal third child. The population was too high, and everyone was running out of food so the government made having a third child illegal. A third child can never go outside or be seen by the population police. Luke had to leave his family and go to a school for boys, so the population police could not find him. He had a hard time at first, because he had never gone to school and had no idea what to do. Nobody wanted to sit next to him or near him. But got used to it and had some fun. I would give it five stars. I give it that rating because you can never predict what happens. You would think the obvious thing would happen like it does in many other books, but something totally different happens. You need to read the first one first to understand this one. The first one is called Among the Hidden.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is an action packed realistic fiction story with very sophisticated characters that could turn at any second. I give the book 4 stars because it has so many action packed scenes but they go by too fast. The book is very addictive I couldn’t stop reading so, if you like to read this is a good book to read.
The hunger game is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen who lives in district 12. The districts are city’s ruled over one city the capital. District 12 is the districted farthest from the capital. At the Reaping (the picking for the hunger games.) Prim (Katnisses sister) is picked for the hunger games Katniss volunteers to take her place. Then the boy peeta who got beaten giving Katniss a piece of burnt bread. After peeta and Katniss get In the capital peeta got interviewed and said he was in love with Katniss.at training her picked up a bow and arrow her favorite hunting weapon after she got use to the type of bow she shot an apple out of the pig the judges where eating. As a training score she got an 11 of 12. She probably will get a lot of sponsors as at the games. When they were dropped off at the games Katniss saw a bow. She sprinted for it she got it. Then she spotted a supply bag, as she was picking it up, a knife came hurling at her head it got lodged in a tree. She got it out and ran into the woods looking for a sorce of water.
I recently read the book Yellow Star by Jennifer Roy. The genre is historical fiction. I would rate this book four stars because you could really feel her emotions and it has a lot of action. For me personally I couldn’t relate to her problem but I could feel her pain. I would also rate this book four stars because when the toughest times came she never gave up which really inspired me.
This book is about a girl named Syvia who is Jewish. The time period is the 1930’s and 1940’s. (During the holocaust.) She is very confused at first living in this place called the ghetto. 270,000 people were in the ghetto to start. The book tells you about her story and what she did to survive. When it started she was 4 ½ but once it went on for months and years she knew something was wrong. The book talks about how she had to stay in a grave yard one night to stay away from the Nazis. Her father would look around while he was at work for hiding spots that Syvia and her sister could hide while they went around looking for kids to send on trains to these places where they would gas them. He also found this cellar when the Nazis made the announcement that everyone in the ghetto had to go on trains but no one knew where they would take you.
At the end of it all there were 800 people left in the ghetto, there were 12 kids, Syvia was one of them. There is a very sad part but you’ll have to read the book to find out.

I just finished reading this book called Raven’s Gate by Anthony Horowitiz . It was real good, it was a fantasy book.
From one to five star I would give it a five star, because it used a lot of action in many different parts, it used a lot of dialog and used a great word choice. Sometimes the book would leave us hanging when it was so good.
Raven’s Gate is about this kid named Matt who was accused for a crime he did not commit, Matt was given a choice: one go to jail or go live with an old woman named Mrs. Deverill in a town called Lesser Malling, He should have chosen jail. A strange and sinister plan is coming together in Lesser Malling, People who try to help him, disappear or die. It all ties to an evil place called Raven’s Gate
Recently I finished a book called Heaven Looks A Lot Like The Mall by Wendy Mass. I personally think this book deserves 5 stars. I think this book deserves five stars because it really connects with problems any teenage girl has or will faced. It shows any problem a teenage girl has faced because it has all the problems like picking out a dress for prom, choosing who is your friend and who is your enemy and all the other problems that a middle schooler or high schooler would face.
Heaven Looks A Lot Like The Mall is all a about 16 Tessa who is facing one big trouble, she is HALF dead! Tessa finds herself in the mall where her parents work in. She meets a boy with a nail through his head, he's her "spiritual guide." Tessa receives a bag that is full of things that she has purchased/bought. She has flash backs of everything that she purchased/bought, Except she is seeing it from everyone else eye of view. After all the crazy flash backs she wakes up in the hospital. There was on question that rang through her mind the whole time "Who was she?" That question was answered, she is 16 year old Tessa.
This book is is realistic fiction. The book has moments when it can be real and unreal. For instance Tessa faces school related problems, home related problems, friend related problems, & any problems you can think of. The parts that aren't real have to do with her being half dead, having flash backs but seeing from someone Else's eye view.
I recommend this book to girls that are having troubles and need someone that has been through the same thing. I DON'T recommend this book to boys, it's a girls book that you will not like.

I recently finished the book Artemis Fowl the Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer. It is a Sci-Fi Fantasy book. It is the third book in the Artemis Fowl series.
In this book Artemis makes a cube called the c-cube out of old fairy stuff that he took from the fairies in the first book. He makes a deal with Jon Spiro for the c-cube. Jon makes an attempt to steal the cube and mortally injures Butler! Can Artemis save Butler and get back the c-cube?
I give this book a 5 star rating. I give it that because it has mysteries, thrills, action, adventure and it is an amazing sequel.

The book i'm reviewing is called,WAIT TILL HELEN COMES.It's about a twelve-year-old girl named Molly and her ten-year-old brother,Micheal, have never liked their younger stepsister,Heather. Ever since their parents got married, she's made Molly and Micheal's life miserable. Now their parents have moved them all to the country to live in a house that used to be a church, with a cemetary in the backyard. If that's not bad enough,Heather starts talking to a ghost named Helen and warning Mlloy and Micheal that Helen is coming for them. Molly feels certain Heather is in some kind of danger, but every time she tries to help,Heather twists things around to get her and Michael in trouble. It seems as if things can't get any worse. But they do,when Helen comes.
I like this book because, this book kept me on my feet the whole way cover to cover. I give this book a four out of five. The only reason why I give this book a four out of is because the authur made the stepsister is extremley bratty. I just want to go in book and set that little girl straight. If you read the book you would want to set her straight, too. that's my book review about,WAIT TILL HELEN COMES. You should read the book, too.

I rate this book five stars. Because there’s so much action during the book. It made me on the edge of my seat. When your reading this book you feel like your right next to him having the problems he’s having and the struggles he’s going thru.
The book I read is called Husky in a Hut, by Ben M. Baglio. This book is about Mandy and her family who goes on vacation to Baffin Island. While she was there she meets one of the people and huskies who are in the race. But while she was there a wolf badly injures the husky who is the leader of the race. Mandy tries to make the husky get better before a race comes. I would give this book a 5 star rating, because I love animals and I would love to save animals. The last reason I liked it because there are other books and they all talk about saving animals. If you were to read this book you wouldn't stop reading.

Also this book real put you in the characters shoe how the characters were feeling or there thoughts. That’s why I recommend this book to you and just a few reasons why I rate this book a 5.

Jackie and Me is a book about a baseball player named Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson was the first black baseball player that played in the Major Leagues. Everyone hated him because of his skin color and didn’t go to his games because he was black. This was back in 1947, when people were separated by skin color. Everyone thought since he was black that he wasn’t good at baseball. But that changed when fans started to see him play. They were very shocked that he was an amazing player. He caught every ball that came to him. He hit a lot of homeruns and was very fast at running around the bases. Even though everyone was screaming and calling him names because he was black he still played through it all.
I would give this book 5 stars because it is a good book that has a good moral. If you like baseball this book is perfect for you. This is a book that you learn a lesson from and you learn what unfair is really about. Some kids think that not getting your way is unfair, but how Jackie was treated is really what is unfair. He was treated differently than everyone else because he was black. But he still played through it and ignored what others said. This book has a great story line and it makes you want to do better in your own baseball games.
The book that I read was a story about Darren Shan (half vampire), Mr. Crepsley (the vampire), Evra Von (the snake boy), Debbie Hemlock and of corse Murlough (the vampeze). In the book Tunnels of Blood by Darren Shan is the 3rd book in the fantasy saga of Cirque du Freak. This series is a twist on the life of the author Darren Shan.
In the book Mr. Crepsley, Darren Shan, and Evra Von leave the cirque and Darren and Evra don't know why until one day Evra was listening to the news and saw something that when he saw it he couldn't believe his eyes. On the news he saw that in an abandon house there was found 6 bodies drained with all their blood. When Darren hears this he loses his mind and goes to conclusions. He says" I'm going to kill that vampire. When he's sleeping I'm going to put a stake through his heart." But luckily Evra goes in and says" it might not be him?" And Darren replies" he's alone at night doing who knows what!" To make sure Evra and Darren follow Mr. Crepsley at night. They get nothing until one night he goes and Darren and Evra think he's going to attack but they find themselves wrong...Mr. Crepsley and Darren find themselves in a whole lot of trouble trying to find and rescue Evra and stop Murlough.
In general I would give this book a 3 in a scale to 1 and 5. I gave it that score because In the last 2 books Darren was trying to hide his half vampire and have human friends. In this book I thought it was more dull and boring

I read the book the Big Field by Mike Lupica. It is a great book because it is about a sports player named Hutch. His dad was a amazing short stop, but Hutch was not allowed to play short. He played second base. His team was amazing and he loved it, except for D-will (Darrel Williams) he thought he was the best. He was really good, but he played short instead of Hutch. Hutch hated D-will and every attempt hutch made to be friends with D- will was shut down. Will they win or will they lose. That’s all I can tell you so if you want to hear more then read the book.
I would rate this book five stars. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was so amazing, it had tons of ups and downs. It showed a lot of different emotions like sad, mad, and hatred.

I read the book Rules by Cynthia Lord. This is a realistic fiction book about a girl named Catherine. Catherine has a younger brother named David, who has Down syndrome. Catherine looks down at her life and struggles to make her family “normal”. When a girl moves into the house next door she tries harder to be normal. Meanwhile, she meets a boy at David’s mental therapy office. His name is Jason and can talk or walk. They soon become friends. She tells her neighbor ALL about Jason, except for the fact he cant talk or walk, because she’s too embarrassed that she’ll judge him wrong. When Catherine sees her neighbor while walking with Jason, she automatically becomes pressured. She overexagerates what happens and feels like she’s in between two friends. With no one to hangout with Catherine sits alone in her room listening to her brothers screams and comes up with a list for rules, incase he ever becomes “normal”. One day she passes through the living room and notices David staring at an action figured that he dropped in their, her first reaction is to be perturbed, but then realizes how happy it makes him. She calls both Jason and her neighbor to tell them the whole story and how she’s so sorry and they understand perfectly. And that’s how the book concludes. I would give this book 5 stars, because of the lesson it teaches. It shows that you should always love your life and nothing as bad as you think it is. That’s something I really like.

Last night I finished The Clique, by Lisi Harrison. It is a teen realistic fiction book. This book is all about four girls named: Massie Block, Alicia Rivera, Dylan Marvil, and Kristen Gregory, otherwise known as The Pretty Committee. These girls go to a fancy all-girls school in Westchester. Their clique is soon turned upside down when new girl, Claire Lyons, moves from Orlando, Florida into Massie’s guest house. The Pretty Committee is an A-list, high-fashion, high-matinence group of seventh graders. Whereas Claire is an LBR (loser beyond repair) according to the mean quartet. Claire is called this because she can’t afford designer name brands like Jimmy Choo, Juicy Couture, Louis Vuitton, and Miu Miu. I would give this book a five star rating. I would rate it this because I looked forward to what mean things The Pretty Committee would do next. I also loved reading Massie’s mean remarks. My favorite was how Claire stood up for herself, not always in the nicest way, but in a way that gave Massie, Alicia, Kristen, and Dylan a taste of their own medicine. Will Claire become a part of their clique? Ha, I’m not telling. But like they say, “The only thing harder than getting in, is staying in.”

I read the book Ten Ways to make My Sister Disappear, by Norma Fox Mazer. It is about this girl named Sprig. She has an older sister Dakota that will do anything to annoy, sabotage, and steal any thing from Sprig. She does this throughout the whole story. So each time Dakota does something to Sprig, Sprig writes down what she wants to do to Dakota. There are 10 things on the list. First Dakota steps onto an ice floe in the Antarctic and drifts off. Next Judge Judy sends Dakota to jail for stealing Sprig’s ideas. Next, if Dakota were made of paper, Sprig would rip, crumple, and throw her out. Then Sprig would turn Dakota into smoke and Dakota would rise into the air and she would be gone. Then Dakota is a cucumber and Sprig would eat her up. Now she turns Dakota into a puddle and every one steps on her. Then Sprig bakes Dakota into a cookie. Then floats Dakota on a raft in the middle of an ocean. My favorite one is when Sprig wants to send Dakota in a hot air balloon and send it around the world twice. Finally, juice her like an orange and drink her down. If I had to rate this book, I would give it 5 stars because it kept me occupied throughout the whole book. It made me laugh a lot, so I would recommend this book to any girls that have older sisters!

The book our class is reading is called Tiger Rising. The three light things about Rob is Sistine, whittling wood and no more school.
Rob and this girl named Sistine are in the same class. One day Rob is working on pulling the weeds out of the garden when Sistine comes to give him his homework. Rob says "thanks" and Sistine says "well" and puts her hands on her hips. Rob blurts out "want to see a tiger" and Sistine says "yes". Rob is a quiet boy and doesn't talk a lot but Sistine makes him smile and talk. When they were walking Rob felt something, he didn't know what it was, and then he remembered it was “a friend".
Rob learned how to whittle from his mom when she was in the hospital. His mom told him that he would never know what would come out of the wood, and the wood would show what it wanted to be. Rob was making a whittle of the tiger he saw in the cage in the woods. At first it looked like a tiger but then it turned out to be “Sistine", and Rob smiled. Rob is a boy that doesn't show his feeling or talk a lot.
Rob has a rash on his legs and he has to go the principle about his legs. Rob the principle said "have you been putting on that ointment" "yes sir" well some parents are saying that your legs are contagious. Well until your legs get better you will not be able to go to school. In robs head he was thinking yes, yes, no school, no bullies.
Three dark things about Rob are sunshine, mom died and not wishes.
When rob was younger his mom was very sick, and was in the hospital. When his mom died Rob was crying at the funeral and his dad smacked him and his shirt ripped.
Rob doesn't like sunshine because it reminds him of his moms funeral and how, it was sunny outside.
Rob doesn't want to make wishes because he doesn't want them to not come true. The biggest wish is to have a friend.
I just finished reading THE RUNAWAY DOLLS by Ann.M.Martin. The book is fiction. It is about two dolls that find a mysterious package and they think it’s the dolls baby long lost sister. The two dolls open the package and find a little baby doll. The dolls run away and they find that surviving with a little baby is not very fun it is very exhausting. When the dolls come home they find that their parents were very worried and then they don’t know what to do with the baby. I would tell you the ending but I can’t. I give this 3 stars because the author used a lot of dialogue and inner thinking. Also that it is very exciting through at the whole book
