What are you already doing to help "save" the planet?
I'd like to hear what you and your families are already doing at home and in school. Your suggestions may inspire others to do the same! You can reply in sentences or in bullets- whatever you like!

I recycle to help the planet also I turn off the lights when I leave a room
My family tries the best we can to use the less wasteful things. We don't want anything happening to our planet because we want to create a better future. We believe that by saving the planet we are really helping ourselves.

Its Sean I use a flashlights that you crank for power instead of using batteries.:)
My entire DI team and I made an effort, and succeeded, to recycle as much as possible in our solution. Also, my character in our skit is an environmentalist. In our skit, we mention dumping oil into water and throwing a plastic bottle in the garbage. Whenever one of the two things pop up in the skit, I spazz out. Our goal is to get the "save the world" concept out to our audiences. It has been working, as far as we know.
Well our family does all the basics (florescent bulbs, turn lights off after leaving the room, shower over bath, recycled notebooks/paper,...ect.)
But what we also did as a family (Mainly my sister Maddy and my dad, with a little help from me) was create a solar panel cooling system. What we did was attach a whit metal wing to a solar panel. The idea was that the metal fin would absorb the heat from the solar panel, and bring it out into the open air, thus the moving open air would cool it off. Making it more efficient.
In the end this theory was proved correct. And in the amount of money you would be saving, it would pay itself off in 12 years. My sister has won two 1st place awards in science fairs for this project, and also get's a all expenses paid trip to go to the sustainability conference in Houston, Texas!
At home, my family recycles all of our bottles, newspapers, and magazines. In school, I try to recycle cans using the bins in the cafeteria, and recycle papers in our class bins. My family also drinks a lot of seltzer, and it's a lot of bottles, but as of last year we got a seltzer maker with two reusable bottles that we just keep refilling. We also have dish towels to wipe our hands on that can be an alternative to paper towels sometimes.
-All of my family recycle everything that we can!
-We reuse our water bottles as much as we can till' they are too used then we recycle!
-I ALWAYS turn off the water when I'm brushing my teeth.
-I take the shortest showers possible.
-When I have a pack of seltzer bottles I always have that wrap that goes around all the bottles, I always cut them so they won't go around animals necks.
GO GREEN, WITHOUT GOING NUTS!
What I do is follow the reduce, reuse, recycle method. It is in a specific order for a reason. First, you reduce the things that are bad for the environment. Then you reuse anything you can. Then you recycle what you need to.

What I am doing to be green is not just recycling and taking shorter showers but following the reduce, reuse and recycle method on everything. They are put in that order on purpose. I reduce the things I use, I then reuse things that I can reuse and then I recycle things. Many say to recycle, recycle, recycle but recycling isn't as good as reducing and reusing.

We take less time in the showers and try to not waste electricity. We recycle and use better bulbs................................................

Hm, what I do for the environment...
Everyone in my family only take about two minute showers, all of our lights are eco-friendly, we recycle frequently, and we don't have TV and in daytime we don't have any lights on so we don't waste electricity
P.S: i don't like chipmunks

Can You Recieve This Comment? I am on my laptop on the windows area of my apple so probably you can see my message.
-I used to bury foods with my cousin and check on it after a few months to see if it biodegraded. We do that with spoiled foods or leftovers sometimes.
-To me, recycling is a habit. I always recycle no matter what I do.
-I dim my computer screens a lot.
-Conserving water is a habit too. I am actually more aware of the enviroment then my mom. ^_^
-I also like to use green stuff and sometimes BURY biodegradable things in my backyard.
